A lot of teachers are asking on Twitter whether the DfE are going to support the Activity Passport financially. Well it looks as though they are not going to. After all, the Activity Passport is purely a voluntary thing that schools might like to take on.
Many teachers who support the idea of the Activity Passport will be concerned about how any costs are dealt with. All schools are under severe financial pressure.
The Activity Passport is an ideal concept to attract PTFA support. The activities in the passport will be supported by many parents, and the concept is a great one for encouraging parent school interaction.
Many PTFAs want to raise funds for their schools and often want to know what the focus for fund raising would be. If you are going to need funds to run your Activity Passport scheme, asking the PTFA to provide funds could be a win-win in so many ways.
So, if you are the teacher i/c Activity Passports in your school, make the PTFA your first port of call.
